Megan Smith

Pharmacist

Megan graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2013.  After completing a community residency and research fellowship at UNC, she moved to Arkansas in 2016.  She joined UAMS College of Pharmacy as a faculty member focused on community pharmacy and helping practitioners advance their services.  Her work with community pharmacists directs her teaching and research activities.

Megan earned the NCPA 2022 National Preceptor of the Year Award, which recognizes those who are "elevating community pharmacy practice through teaching and research".  She was also presented the 2023 NASPA Innovative Pharmacy Practice Award by the Arkansas Pharmacists Association for having done so much to advance pharmacy in this state (NASPA is the National Association of State Pharmacy Associations).

"The teaching side of things lets me show students what community pharmacies can do.  I can show my students what it means to treat the whole patient." - Megan Smith

When not teaching or at The Pharmacy, Megan is trying to keep up with her active boys!  She enjoys exploring new places, watching documentaries, and reading.
