"We try to combine the best of the chains and the best of independent pharmacies so we can take care of the patients to the best of our ability."

                                    Brittany Sanders

Our Story

After working together for a big-chain pharmacy, our founding pharmacists Brittany and Nick were convinced that they could provide patients with better medication and health-related care at a locally-owned pharmacy.

They wanted the flexibility to be responsive to patient needs and to be able to adapt quickly to changes, without being restricted by corporate policies.  This has certainly proved itself relevant during the COVID-19 pandemic.  From this initial concept in October 2014, to the grand opening in November 2015, to today, this belief forms the foundation of the company values at The Pharmacy at Wellington.

The trust that you place in us makes our work very rewarding and we enjoy helping you to meet overall health goals.  Many of you will have noticed that our team has grown.  This is because we aim to maintain the same superior level of service for all of our patients, whether you've just transferred over your prescriptions recently or have been with us from the beginning.  Our priority has always been to have time to listen to your needs and provide you with unmatched care.

Brittany Sanders - Pharmacist

Brittany is a partner at The Pharmacy at Wellington.  A graduate of UAMS in 2005 with a Doctor of Pharmacy, Brittany grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas and spent some formative years in South Africa.

Brittany has always had a passion for helping others and chemistry was her favorite subject in school so there was no doubt that pharmacy was the career for her.  "My favorite thing about The Pharmacy is being able to spend time with patients and taking care of them the way that they deserve."

Brittany's leadership and service earned her the 2020 Pharmacist of the Year Award from the Arkansas Pharmacists' Association (APA).  She is the 2024-2025 President of the APA and works to promote and advance the pharmacy profession.  Brittany has also been named to Little Rock Soirée's Class of 2024 Women to Watch.

Some of her favorite hobbies include spending time at her daughter’s dance recitals and her son’s triathlons, cross country meets, and Spartan races.  She also enjoys entertaining, when her schedule allows.

Nick Dziurkowski - Pharmacist

Nick is one of our fearless leaders and a partner at The Pharmacy at Wellington.

He grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas, before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served for 4 years. Nick then graduated from UAMS with his PharmD in 2013.  In his words, "The flexibility of independent pharmacy allows me to spend time with both patients and family."

When Nick is not at The Pharmacy, he loves to do anything outdoors with his wife and two daughters.  Read about his take on being a pharmacist dad here, on our blog.  He also keeps physically active and constantly trains for a competition of some sort.

Jenny Wells - Pharmacist-in-Charge

Born and raised in Arkansas, Jenny went to Arkansas High School in Texarkana.  She pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of Arkansas before relocating to Little Rock, where she earned her Pharm.D. from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in 2013.

At The Pharmacy at Wellington, Jenny finds profound satisfaction in fostering personal connections with the community -- a contrast to her previous experience at larger chain pharmacies.  She values the sense of work family at Wellington, noting how the emphasis on community engagement visibly enhances customer satisfaction.

In addition to her retail pharmacy responsibilities, Jenny is a recognized specialist in consultant pharmacy, focusing on outpatient surgery centers. She has delivered numerous continuing education presentations on topics ranging from pain management to women's health.  As the pharmacy's medication therapy management (MTM) pharmacist and an adjunct faculty member for UAMS and the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM), Jenny plays a crucial role in maintaining exemplary pharmacy practices and patient care standards.

Holding credentials to prescribe oral contraceptives underscores Jenny's dedication to women's health and her broader commitment to providing holistic pharmaceutical care.  Her recent focus is on promoting oral contraceptive prescribing in Arkansas, advocating for education among her peers for them to practice at the top of their licensure.

Jenny lives in Little Rock with her husband, their two children, their dalmatian, and their cat.

*Congratulations Jenny!* -- Jenny was awarded 2024 Innovative Pharmacist of the Year by the Arkansas Pharmacists Association!  She is also in the feature story of the National Community Pharmacists Association's August 2024 magazine, America's Pharmacist -- read the story here.

Susan Schee - Pharmacist

Susan grew up as an Air Force brat, living all over the US and Europe, but she calls Little Rock home. She first became interested in pharmacy while perusing the Physician's Desk Reference at her grandmother's house.  It included photos, names, descriptions, and the effects of different medications.  She found it fun to find the pill that looked the coolest and learn what it was used for and how it worked -- it sparked her interest in pharmacy!

Susan graduated from UAMS with her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2000 and has a special interest in mental health.

"One of my favorite things about working at The Pharmacy is the one-on-one time I am able to spend with patients, their loved ones, and their healthcare providers.  These relationships are vital and very beneficial when communicating about the patient's medications."

Susan is a wine enthusiast and enjoys visiting wineries across the country.  Those trips have helped to stock her 300 bottle strong wine cellar!

Mary Joslin - Pharmacist

Mary was born and raised in Little Rock and graduated from UAMS with a PharmD in 2014. She and her younger sister, also a pharmacist, grew up with the best pharmacist role models, as both their parents are pharmacists.

“My parents’ advice has always been to treat your patients the same way you would want your family to be treated. That’s what I love about independent pharmacy -- having the ability to give our patients the best possible care.”

When Mary isn’t at the pharmacy, she is spending time with her husband and family, working on DIY projects around the house, and she's always on the hunt for new house flipping projects!

"“The teaching side of things lets me show students what community pharmacies can do.  I can show my students how community pharmacies do these great things like screenings, testings, and vaccines. We can show them what it means to treat the whole patient.”

                                               Megan Smith

Megan Smith - Pharmacist

Megan Smith grew up in North Carolina and moved to Arkansas in 2016. She began working in small hometown pharmacy during high school, which spurred her lifelong passion for community pharmacy.

She graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2013, then completed a community residency and a research fellowship at UNC. She moved to Arkansas to join UAMS College of Pharmacy as a faculty member focused on community pharmacy. Her passion is helping to highlight the incredible profession of community pharmacy and helping practitioners advance their services. Her work with community pharmacists directs her teaching and research activities.

When she is not teaching or working at our pharmacy, Megan is trying to keep up with her active 5 and 7 year old boys!  She enjoys exploring new places, watching documentaries, and reading.

We are excited to announce that Megan was awarded the NCPA (National Community Pharmacy Association) Foundation's 2022 National Preceptor of the Year Award!  The award recognizes those who are “elevating community pharmacy practice through teaching and research" and it was presented at the October 2022 NCPA conference.

At the Arkansas Pharmacists Association's Annual Meeting in June 2023, Megan was also presented the 2023 NASPA Excellence in Innovation Award!  This award is also well-deserved -- Megan has done so much to advance community pharmacy across the state.  Congratulations Megan!

Photo of Kellyn Foster

Kellyn Foster - Pharmacist

Kellyn knew since the age of 12 that she wanted to study science and she stuck with it.  Being a "people person", pharmacy was a natural career choice!  She loves to help patients and she especially enjoys preventive health care.  Administering vaccines falls into that category for Kellyn, who has been active with our offsite and home vaccine clinics.  She is also certified to do oral contraceptive consultations and to prescribe birth control pills.  Kellyn likes the generalist pharmacist role and she's been able to experience the various aspects of pharmacy since graduating from UAMS in 2023.  She observes a positive recent change in the perception of the profession from a provider recognition standpoint: that pharmacists are now better acknowledged for being experts in the field of medications, which is of course their field of expertise and what they study.

In her free time, Kellyn loves to read -- she reads over 100 books a year!  Her interests are vast, including historical fiction, generic fiction, biographies, memoirs, pharmacy-related books, etc., although she reads mostly fiction.  Her favorite book, which she highly recommends, is The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah, an historical fiction set in Alaska.

Drop by to introduce yourself to Kellyn (whose name, by the way, is a combination of her parents' names), and let her know your favorite book!

Photo of Taylor Deen

Taylor Deen - Pharmacist

Taylor was born and raised in Arkansas, graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Biochemistry, then came back to Arkansas to attend UAMS College of Pharmacy.  She was first introduced to pharmacy in her high school Chemistry class, where she discovered that the field combined her passions for science and people.  Taylor graduated from UAMS in 2023, then pursued an extra year of training through the NCPA/CPESN fellowship program, which she completed at The Pharmacy at Wellington.

Taylor's roles outside of her daily pharmacy duties include the Cognivue program, oral contraceptive consultations, medication therapy management, and many other clinical services.  She hopes to continue to expand the services offered by the pharmacy.  She also serves as a preceptor for pharmacy students from Harding College of Pharmacy.

When Taylor is not at work, you'll find her with her husband, daughter, and their golden retriever.  They love to spend time with family, go on adventures, or just stay home together.
