"We try to combine the best of the chains and the best of independent pharmacies so we can take care of the patients to the best of our ability."

Our Story

Brittany Sanders - Pharmacist
Brittany has always had a passion for helping others and chemistry was her favorite subject in school so there was no doubt that pharmacy was the career for her. "My favorite thing about The Pharmacy is being able to spend time with patients and taking care of them the way that they deserve."
Brittany's leadership and service earned her the 2020 Pharmacist of the Year Award from the Arkansas Pharmacists' Association (APA). She is the 2024-2025 President of the APA and works to promote and advance the pharmacy profession. Brittany has also been named to Little Rock Soirée's Class of 2024 Women to Watch.
Some of her favorite hobbies include spending time at her daughter’s dance recitals and her son’s triathlons, cross country meets, and Spartan races. She also enjoys entertaining, when her schedule allows.

Jenny Wells - Pharmacist-in-Charge
At The Pharmacy at Wellington, Jenny finds profound satisfaction in fostering personal connections with the community -- a contrast to her previous experience at larger chain pharmacies. She values the sense of work family at Wellington, noting how the emphasis on community engagement visibly enhances customer satisfaction.
In addition to her retail pharmacy responsibilities, Jenny is a recognized specialist in consultant pharmacy, focusing on outpatient surgery centers. She has delivered numerous continuing education presentations on topics ranging from pain management to women's health. As the pharmacy's medication therapy management (MTM) pharmacist and an adjunct faculty member for UAMS and the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM), Jenny plays a crucial role in maintaining exemplary pharmacy practices and patient care standards.
Holding credentials to prescribe oral contraceptives underscores Jenny's dedication to women's health and her broader commitment to providing holistic pharmaceutical care. Her recent focus is on promoting oral contraceptive prescribing in Arkansas, advocating for education among her peers for them to practice at the top of their licensure.
Jenny lives in Little Rock with her husband, their two children, their dalmatian, and their cat.

"“The teaching side of things lets me show students what community pharmacies can do. I can show my students how community pharmacies do these great things like screenings, testings, and vaccines. We can show them what it means to treat the whole patient.”
Megan Smith
Megan Smith - Pharmacist
Megan Smith grew up in North Carolina and moved to Arkansas in 2016. She began working in small hometown pharmacy during high school, which spurred her lifelong passion for community pharmacy.
She graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2013, then completed a community residency and a research fellowship at UNC. She moved to Arkansas to join UAMS College of Pharmacy as a faculty member focused on community pharmacy. Her passion is helping to highlight the incredible profession of community pharmacy and helping practitioners advance their services. Her work with community pharmacists directs her teaching and research activities.
When she is not teaching or working at our pharmacy, Megan is trying to keep up with her active 5 and 7 year old boys! She enjoys exploring new places, watching documentaries, and reading.
We are excited to announce that Megan was awarded the NCPA (National Community Pharmacy Association) Foundation's 2022 National Preceptor of the Year Award! The award recognizes those who are “elevating community pharmacy practice through teaching and research" and it was presented at the October 2022 NCPA conference.
At the Arkansas Pharmacists Association's Annual Meeting in June 2023, Megan was also presented the 2023 NASPA Excellence in Innovation Award! This award is also well-deserved -- Megan has done so much to advance community pharmacy across the state. Congratulations Megan!
(NASPA is the National Association of State Pharmacy Associations)
Kellyn Foster - Pharmacist
In her free time, Kellyn loves to read -- she reads over 100 books a year! Her interests are vast, including historical fiction, generic fiction, biographies, memoirs, pharmacy-related books, etc., although she reads mostly fiction. Her favorite book, which she highly recommends, is The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah, an historical fiction set in Alaska.
Taylor Deen - Pharmacist
Taylor was born and raised in Arkansas, graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Biochemistry, then came back to Arkansas to attend UAMS College of Pharmacy. She was first introduced to pharmacy in her high school Chemistry class, where she discovered that the field combined her passions for science and people. Taylor graduated from UAMS in 2023, then pursued an extra year of training through the NCPA/CPESN fellowship program, which she completed at The Pharmacy at Wellington.
Taylor's roles outside of her daily pharmacy duties include the Cognivue program, oral contraceptive consultations, medication therapy management, and many other clinical services. She hopes to continue to expand the services offered by the pharmacy. She also serves as a preceptor for pharmacy students from Harding College of Pharmacy.
When Taylor is not at work, you'll find her with her husband, daughter, and their golden retriever. They love to spend time with family, go on adventures, or just stay home together.
